[Gilman-l] Practical consequences of Gilman's work

Gilman obviously believed that writing could and should have practical 
consequences, that readers should learn from what they read, and act on 
what they learn.

Aside from her assertion that Silas Weir Mitchell altered his rest cure 
after reading "The Yellow Wall-Paper," are there any examples of 
practical consequences of people reading and acting on Gilman's 
writings?
